Meet your Teacher
Grace Tarpey
A graduate from the University of Illinois School of Music with 3 years of teaching experience, I believe in the unique musical potential of every person. In my lessons, I aim to create an immersive lesson experience, combining a classical teaching style with repertoire tailored to your specific interests. I believe music is largely about expression and in every lesson I make sure you are able to find your style, expand your talents, and find a continued love for music.
When I'm not teaching folks to tickle the ivories, I love reading, baking, dancing, exploring...and coffee. Lots of coffee.
I definitely suffer from a bit of wanderlust, exploring everything from downtowns to museums, nature preserves, and even other countries! Nothing quite beats the great outdoors when the sun is shining, the warmth of a summer's day, or the gentle cool of a breeze as it blows gently across your face.
On the other hand, when the rain is pouring or the snow is piling up outside, It's a joy to curl up with a book in one hand, coffee in the other, and a plate of home-baked goodies at the side. Some of my favorite books include Pride and Prejudice, The Lord of the Rings, and Jane Eyre, among others.
